Medical Care & Medication Management at Seven Starling

What is the medical evaluation?

Your PMHNP will assess your medical and mental health history to determine if you'd benefit from additional testing, medication, or evaluation. Based on your needs, you may follow up with your Seven Starling provider for further discussion, screening, or medication check-ins.

In your medical evaluation, your PMHNP will:

  • Review and confirm your history in depth- medical, psychiatric, social, and family history
  • Explore your current symptoms and how they're impacting your life
  • Discuss your goals for treatment and what matters most to you
  • Screen for medical contributors to your symptoms
  • Create a personalized treatment plan based on the four pillars of holistic care
  • Answer your questions and address any concerns

This is a collaborative process. Your input, preferences, and goals guide every decision. There are no "wrong" answers, just honest conversation about how to help you feel better.

Does Seven Starling offer medication management?

Yes! Many women experiencing mental health challenges during pivotal life transitions – when navigating fertility challenges, postpartum recovery, early parenthood, or perimenopause and menopause – can benefit from a combination of therapy and medication. Offering this service at Seven Starling is part of our holistic approach to care and we’re thrilled to make accessing this type of care even easier.

Important note for those planning pregnancy and currently pregnant patients: At this time, we cannot prescribe medications during pregnancy or the preconception period. We recommend completing a medical evaluation to ensure your treatment is comprehensive and receive lifestyle, psychotherapeutic, and other impactful recommendations for your care. We are also happy to offer evidence based treatment recommendations to take to your treating provider, and support in navigating decisions about medication during this time.
