How Seven Starling Estimates Your Cost of Care
How can I find out how much my sessions will cost?
If you are using insurance to pay for care, the Seven Starling Billing team will verify your benefits and send you a Quote of Benefits email after you submit your intake forms in full. This email will include:
- An overview of your estimated cost per session, according to the information your insurance provides Seven Starling
- Any applicable deductible, according to the information your insurance provides Seven Starling
Session amounts owed will be charged to your payment method on file following your sessions and can be viewed in your Seven Starling account.
An Important Note:
Your estimated session cost, provided in your Quote of Benefits email, is our best estimate of your cost of care based on the information that your insurance plan shares with us. While we do our best to ensure this information is accurate, sometimes insurance provides us with incorrect or incomplete information.
If this occurs, your insurance will notify Seven Starling of any changes to your cost of care upon processing your claim. We’ll share this information with you right away and automatically process any refunds or additional charges as required by your insurance.
While we do our best to guide you through your coverage, it is your responsibility as the insurance holder to understand your mental health benefits according to your plan.
We encourage you to contact your insurance directly to fully understand your mental health benefits – they’re the most accurate source for this information. You can often find the phone number for your insurance company’s member services team listed on the back of your insurance card.
Any estimates provided by Seven Starling are non-binding and subject to change once claims have been processed by your insurance.
Why did my cost of care change?
While we do our best to provide you with an accurate cost estimate for your care upon getting started, sometimes insurance provides us with incorrect or incomplete information. This means that the final cost of your session may occasionally vary from the initial cost estimate we share with you.
If this occurs, your insurance will notify Seven Starling of any changes to your cost of care upon processing your claim. We’ll share this information with you and automatically process any refunds or additional charges as required by your insurance.
Additionally, it’s important to understand that when your plan resets at the end of your benefit year (which may or may not be aligned with the calendar year, as this is unique to your individual plan), this may impact your cost of care. For example, your deductible and out-of-pocket maximum amounts may reset at the start of a new benefit year, changing your patient responsibility amount per session. Additionally, if you select a new plan with different benefits (for example, upgrading or downgrading your plan with the same carrier, selecting a plan with a different co-pay or a higher or lower deductible, etc), that can also change your cost of care per session.
Important note: it is your responsibility as the insurance holder to understand your mental health benefits according to your plan. For the most accurate information about your coverage, we suggest contacting your insurance directly by calling the member services phone number, often listed on the back of your insurance card, to learn more about your plan’s specific mental health benefits.
